Alisa Al-Haj
Counselling Intern - Psychotherapy Spiritual Emergence
Hi there! I’m Alisa Al Haj, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges with care and compassion. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction, burnout, trauma, or spiritual struggles, I believe that healing starts with feeling understood and supported in a space that’s just for you.

My approach is tailored to your unique needs, and I work collaboratively with you to address the specific concerns you’re facing. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including Low Barrier Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and more. With specialized training in spiritual care and religious trauma, I also offer sensitive support for those dealing with complex spiritual or religious issues. With prior experience in both direct therapy and high-pressure professional settings, I bring a balanced approach of empathy and practical guidance.
My goal is to offer a supportive environment where you can explore your challenges and move toward healing and personal growth.
I’m an intern with The Compassion Project, because our organization is committed to making mental health care accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. I joined The Compassion Project because I believe in empowering individuals to take control of their healing, especially for those who feel like they're battling a system that doesn’t always prioritize their well-being. Everyone deserves the chance to heal, and I’m passionate about making that a reality.
I won’t overwhelm you with more long introductions—let’s talk about what really matters to you. I’d love to invite you to book an exploration call so we can discuss how I can support your journey and find the right approach that fits your needs. Let’s connect and start this journey together!
