The Compassion Project
Derek Endress
Spiritual Emergence Practitioner
Derek uses pronouns he/him, with white settler roots with colonial parts from Scotland, England, Germany, and Italy. Over the course of his many years as an energy healer and spiritual emergence practitioner he has had the opportunity to work extremely successfully with high-functioning clients such as palliative care specialists, doctors, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, educators, and gifted healers who felt they had lost aspects of their focus, vitality and motivation to continue with expectations of their peers and work culture, in their fields of expertise. In recent years he has worked closely with powerful leaders in Indigenous cultures including the Tlingit, Kwanlin Dun First Nations, Haida Gwaii, and others in western Canada.
Arriving from Ontario, to BC, and finally to the Yukon in 1988, he explored the land, rivers, lakes and nearby Pacific Ocean for play and work; building a family life with 2 sons.
He focused his love of nature and the outdoors as a past extreme sports athlete, professional adventure guide, and teacher. A calling came to him in 2011 when he moved to Vancouver Island for 8 years to dive deep into transformative psychospiritual and sacred medicine work around his own complex trauma, in hopes of better serving the complexity of others. He has been back in the Yukon (Whitehorse) for the past 6 years where he lives and presently practices today.
When you get to know Derek you appreciate his warm presence, his persistence and his tenacity for cultivating trust and safe energetic and healing spaces. In his spare time one, can find him on the land or water; paddling remote rivers, hiking, flyfishing, backcountry skiing or mountain biking. Over the years Derek has cultivated an appreciation for the earthly gifts and what restorative energy land-based activities can bring for all those open to reconnecting with their true, authentic self.
