The Compassion Project
Lindsay Ryan
Associate Psychotherapist
I chose the mental health field after working in live theatre, the corporate world, and higher education administration. My experiences have taught me that everyone has their own unique story and that we are all works in progress. My hope is that I can be a figure in the process as clients work towards their mental health goals.
I believe in body neutrality and respecting different ways of knowing.
Coming from a lower socio-economic background with divorced parents, while being privileged in other ways, I am aware of the social justice issues that impact health. I have lived experience with grief and have supported individuals with life-limiting illness. I have taken a certificate course in ADHD counselling and practice from a Neurodiversity-affirming lens.
My goal is to support clients on their journeys with a respect for the barriers they may face. During sessions clients can expect a non-judgemental and casual approach. I want my support to be practical and useful to them.
Some strategies I use for my own mental well-being are yoga and mindfulness, energy accounting, mindful eating, and setting boundaries.
