The Compassion Project
Pauline O'Brien (She/Her)
Clinical Director
Ed.D, Registered Psychotherapist
(Hamilton Office & Online)
I am the Founder & Clinical Director of the Compassion Project. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Canadian Certified Counsellor-Supervisor, and Certified Canadian Addictions Counsellor (Supervisor) with a Doctorate degree in Counselling Psychology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
I am passionate about mental health and addiction care and have worked alongside first responders and healthcare providers throughout my career.
I have dedicated my career to helping others and in particular to helping heal caregivers. I am a clinical supervisor and a therapist for therapists. Most important, I am a person living with mental illness and addiction. A person who has lived and survived trauma. Recovery is at the forefront of my life's work.
One of my greatest strengths is being incredibly disarming. I have the ability to put folks at ease and can facilitate a greater understanding and awareness of capacity for change.
I often use humour and radical acceptance within my approach. I am a compassionate caregiver who gets truly excited to be a part of someone's healing journey.
I provide counsellor and psychotherapist supervision and psychotherapy. MODALITIES: EMDR, EGO STATE (parts work, inner child) Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, SSP (Polyvagal), ACT, CBT, DBT, MI, SFBT and other postmodern approaches, GOTTMAN LEVEL 1.
