About Derek

​

Derek is a sensitive, skilled and compassionate practitioner, guide, and facilitator, offering a wide range of healing modalities to support individuals on their journey of self-discovery, transformation, and integration. With a background rooted in adventure guiding, entrepreneurship, and a deep personal path of inner exploration, Derek has spent over three decades studying and applying a variety of therapeutic and spiritual practices, including Jungian, Depth and Transpersonal Psychology, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, somatic and energy healing, breathwork, shamanic practices, and ancestral healing.

Drawing from a diverse range of teachings, Derek is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, having completed Level 1 certification through the Internal Family Systems Institute. He also facilitates Sacred Breathwork (based on Grof’s Holotropic model), and is a certified practitioner of Healing Touch (Level 4).

 

His work is deeply informed by his ongoing studies in Ancestral Medicine with Dr. Daniel Foor, focusing on relational, inter-generational healing through an animistic lens and the wisdom of his four ancestral lineages. Additionally, Derek has worked closely with IFS Practitioner and author Robert Falconer to explore "Unattached Burdens" through the IFS model, deepening his understanding of trauma and healing parts that may not be of our own system.

 

Throughout his journey, Derek has cultivated a strong commitment to creating boundaries, grounded, and heart-centered spaces for healing. He specializes in working with a diverse range of clients, including cisgender, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA2S+, and BIPOC individuals, offering a trauma-informed, intuitive, and empathic approach that emphasizes self-compassion, curiosity, and patience. By helping clients reconnect with their innate wisdom and embrace all parts of themselves with kindness and self-love, Derek guides others through the often-challenging yet transformative process of removing false masks of identity and attuning to their true selves.

With a deep reverence for the liminal space—the in-between, the threshold of transformation—Derek holds space for individuals navigating spiritual emergence, emergency guidance, and psychedelic integration support. He is passionate about guiding others through their own journeys of healing, offering the support and patience needed to reconnect with the wisdom, resilience, and humility that reside within.

 

Derek's work is rooted in the belief that healing is a deeply personal, sacred path. He invites those he works with to lean into their own inner wisdom, trusting that the road, though unique to each individual, can be traveled with compassion, humility, and a willingness to explore and integrate the whole self.

In all his work, Derek remains dedicated to honoring the courage it takes to step into vulnerability, reconnect with the wisdom of one's ancestors, healing guides of the seen and unseen; embracing the fullness of the human experience—holding a space where the sacred and the everyday converge.
